Brotato is a roguelite shooter with a lot of weapons, and it’s important to find the best ones.

Blobfish made the top-down shooter Brotato, which came out in 2022. Players are asked to use a variety of weapons and tools to help a potato survive waves of alien attackers.

The game lets you choose from different characters, each of which has its own strengths and weaknesses. This means that it can be played in many different ways. One of the main ways players help their potato stay alive is by using the ranged weapons they have access to. When trying to finish the survival challenge, players have a number of different ranged attack options to think about. But which one will deliver the winning headshot?

Pistol

All players have to do to get the Pistol is launch Brotato. Even though it’s one of the game’s default weapons, it’s a good way to attack that you can count on. Pistols are great for the beginning of a run because you only need 10 materials to make a Tier 1 weapon.

Those who stick with the Pistol as their run goes on will be rewarded for their dedication. All pistols also have the ability to pierce one enemy and deal 50% damage to a second. This is important when using a tier 4 weapon, since each shot can do up to 50 damage.

Ghost Scepter

The Ghost Scepter is a well-balanced weapon that does between 10 and 30 damage, knocks back enemies by 2, and has a good attack speed of under 1 second. But it’s the extra benefits that make it quiet and effective.

The Ghost Scepter rewards players for killing enemies with it by adding a point to their maximum HP every time they kill a certain number of enemies. For tier 1 scepters, players get an extra 20 HP for every 20 they have. At tier 4, they get an extra 12 HP for every 20 they have. This weapon is already yours when the game starts, so you don’t have to do anything to get it.

Double Barrel Shotgun

Like the pistol, players don’t have to complete any achievements to get the shotgun. It packs a punch and is a favorite weapon of both new and experienced players. Even though the shotgun doesn’t do as much damage per shot as some of the other weapons, it is very useful because it can hit multiple enemies at once.

Shotguns can pierce through two to three enemies with each shot, but each extra hit does more damage. When players are pushed into a corner by multiple enemies, the gun is especially useful because each shot knocks them back 8 points. Combining the shotgun with some weapons that do more damage can be an effective and deadly way to create space and launch a powerful attack.

Laser Gun

The Laser Gun is the last one on this list of the default weapons you can use in Brotato, and for good reason. The Laser Gun is one of the most powerful ranged weapons in the game. At tier 1, it does 40 damage, and at tier 4, it does 100 damage.

Even though the Laser Gun has one of the slowest attack speeds in the game, it makes up for it by giving the player’s ranged damage score a 400–600% boost, depending on the tier of the weapon. It also goes through the first enemy it hits, doing 25% more damage to the next one. The Laser Gun is a good way for players to stay safe, whether they are in the first wave or the 20th.

Minigun

This weapon is a standard starter for the Cyborg character, so fans of that character will know it well. The Minigun is only available on tiers 3 and 4, and it has the fastest attack speed of all the weapons in the game. Even though the attack speed boost hurts the weapon’s power, the Minigun’s effectiveness comes from the sheer number of attacks it can make.

The Minigun has an amazing cooldown of 0.09 to 0.06 seconds, depending on the tier, and it can shoot through one enemy and deal 50% of its damage to a second one. With the Minigun’s added knockback of 3, players will never have to wait for a weapon to cool down.

Flamethrower

The Flamethrower is another weapon that works because of how loud it is. As the name suggests, this weapon keeps putting out a steady stream of flame that burns enemies. The Flamethrower is one of the fastest weapons in the game. Its attack speed ranges from 0.12 to 0.09 seconds, depending on the weapon’s tier.

Even though the Flam only does 1 damage per shot, the weapon has the added benefit of doing more damage than this through fire. It does 3×5 burning damage by default, but that can go as high as 10×10 for a tier 4 weapon. It can pierce almost any enemy, making it nearly impossible for the aliens to avoid getting roasted.

Rocket Launcher

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that a weapon that can destroy heavy weapons and machinery in many first-person shooters can also do a lot of damage in Brotato. The Rocket Launcher is a heavy explosive weapon that can deal a lot of damage and send a lot of enemy projectiles flying back at them. This helps clear out large groups of enemies.

The Rocket Launcher fires projectiles that explode when they hit their target. Each projectile can do up to 80 damage per shot, with a 100% boost based on the player’s ranged damage score. Even though its slowest attack speed is 1.78 seconds, which is a little slower than some of its ranged counterparts, its 15-point knockback makes it worth the wait.

Sniper Gun

Another weapon from a first-person shooter shows up in Brotato, and, not surprisingly, it’s a good way to deal with the alien problem in the game. The Sniper Gun is not available until tier 3, so getting it in any way will give you a strong offensive punch.

With a 100% boost from ranged damage and a 20–30% boost from range points, sniper guns can do up to 80 points of damage per hit. However, it is the 20% chance of a critical hit that makes it stand out. To make it a more appealing weapon, hitting an enemy will cause more projectiles to come out of the target, doing more damage to other enemies nearby. Players need to win a run with the Hunter character in order to get this weapon.

Nuclear Launcher

The Nuclear Launcher has an attack with a long range, a lot of damage, and a lot of knockback. It takes all the good things about the Rocket Launcher and turns up the heat. This launcher is an explosive and effective way to control crowds. At its lowest rank, tier 3, it does 60 damage, which doubles at tier 4.

All of the projectiles fired from the Nuclear Launcher explode when they hit an enemy. This makes it a very useful weapon when the number of enemies grows in later waves. Each projectile has a 15-count knockback and is boosted by 100% of the player’s ranged damage and elemental damage scores. Players must complete a run with the Soldier character in order to get this weapon.

Obliterator

In Brotato, players have to finish a run at the most dangerous level and then use the Demon character they get to win an extra run. Even though this seems like a lot of work for just a weapon, the Obliterator is both a way to win runs and a reward for sticking with it.

The Obliterator is by far the most powerful way to deal damage in Flappy Bird game. Its tier 3 and tier 4 versions deal 250 and 350 damage, respectively. To make things worse for the many aliens it kills, the tier 3 version has its ranged damage increased by 1000%, while the tier 4 version has its ranged damage increased by 1500%. With its ability to pierce through anything, this weapon is a way to say congratulations on finishing the hardest parts of Brotato.

Now you can play Brotato on your PC.
