In Sons of the Forest, these mods turn you from a survivor into a god.
Imagine that you are a demon mercenary who just got hired to do the job of a lifetime: save a billionaire family who hasn’t been seen or heard from in seven months. They live on an expensive private island. Should be easy, right? You might even get a tan, so grab some drinks. Sweet deal.
Wrong! Sons of the Forest puts you on an island full of demons, cannibals, mutants, and rogue Puff Corp employees in silver jumpsuits who knock you out when your fancy Puff Corp helicopter crashes. Worse, the billionaire’s father is dead, his mother is missing, and the billionaire’s daughter has grown some extra limbs. To stay alive, you have to build a base, take care of your resources, find food by yourself, and do everything else. These mods will help you get through the night, which is good news.
Better Lighting
It can be hard to get through a monster-filled forest at night, especially if you’re all by yourself, all kinds of monsters are out to get you, and you have to keep getting more torches on top of everything else.
Setting up Let There Be Light and Clear and Vibrant can save your life, especially if you don’t like being in the dark. Both mods add shaders that make the game’s light settings better, so you can see your surroundings better even in caves and tunnels.
Eagle Eyes
The Simple Zoom mod can help if you get tired of switching out your hold items to use your binoculars or if you lose them. Using the ALT keybind, you can also find places from very far away. This can help you gain ground.
This is a simple mod that adds a feature that makes the game more fun and could save your life by letting you look ahead.
Play In Third Person
It can be scary to fight demons and cannibals, especially when they are right in front of you. Installing the Camera Perspective Change mod can calm some people down and make shooting much more immersive for those who want to look around while fighting off a group of wild cannibals.
This mod is especially helpful if you don’t like playing with a companion like Kelvin or Virginia, who often watch your six when you’re being ambushed.
Go Easy On Your Machine
It might be tempting to turn up all of your settings, especially if you have a curved screen and surround sound set up and want to get the most out of your survival game. If you want to join in but don’t have a lot of RAM or GPU, you might want to install the Optimized Settings For Low-End PC.
This mod will make sure that your FPS stays at its best while you fight monsters and fly down mountains on a hang glider. The Optimized mod also does a very good job.
Get A Head Start
Want to improve your chances of living? There are a few mods that will do that for you. A Good Start puts you on an island in the lake with a lot of resources, like 210 logs stored in a tree house nearby to help you build a strong base. A Fresh Navy Start will also teach you how to use the rope gun, rebreather, and shovel to get an edge over your enemies.
If you care a lot about the story, the Crash Site Selector mod also lets you choose where you land, so you can get exactly what you want.
Grow Back Those Trees
If you’re one of the few people who make it to the helicopter with Timmy and Eric Le Blanc but decide to stay behind and find out what happened to Barbara Puffton, the Environment Restoration mod might be good for your long-term needs.
This mod changes the plants back to how they were before, but it doesn’t reset your building progress. This means you can cut down as many trees as you want for your base and resources without running out of wood or hurting the environment.
Be The Master Of Your Inventory
There are a lot of mods that let you get all the items without having to walk through dangerous places: The Inventory and Backpack mods give you all the food, weapons, and ammunition Funny Shooter 2 game has to offer, and the Max Inventory Items mod lets you max out their settings so you don’t have to worry about running out of bullets when you’re surrounded.
Once you have everything set up nicely, the Faster Inventory Planning mod lets you enjoy it by giving you control over the speed of the camera, the speed of the cursor, and the field of view (FOV).
Rewrite History
This is a mod that we might all want in real life. The SaveGame Editor mod lets you change the number of items in your inventory and edit your save files. So, if you get stuck somewhere and something is missing, you can always save your game file and change the real world to your advantage.
This means that you can pretty much make anything you want at any time.
Walking Is For Plebs
Tired of having to walk all over the map to complete different game goals? With the Warps mod, you don’t have to walk everywhere. Instead, you can teleport across the map by setting up custom warps in the places you want to go.
Basically, you’re making entrances to other parts of the island.
Play In God Mode
All of the above isn’t enough for some people. And that’s fine, because the people in the modding community know what you really want. To go into full-on god mode, all you have to do is install Debug Console.
This mod gives you access to all of the game’s meters, controls, and item bars, so you can change reality to be whatever you want.
