In New World, Heartrune Gems give players an extra Ultimate that can be used to make even more unique builds. These are the best ones.
In an open-world MMO like New World, where players heavily rely on weapon masteries to win PVP and PVE. It’s very important for players to take advantage of how well they use combos and skills to win fights. At its most basic, New World lets players attach three (3) skills to two (2) weapons, giving them a total of six (6) skills to play with. So, when New World added the idea of a Heartrune Gem as an extra Ultimate. Players got another way to spice up their builds in the game.
With the help of a Heartrune Gem, players can learn a new skill that fits in with how they like to play. Different Heartrune Gems can do things like remove negative effects. Make it easier to avoid damage, or even deal AOE damage to enemies. If a player has the right Heartrune Gem, they might be able to win more fights. But which Heartrune Gems should players focus on getting first?
Detonate
Whether a player chooses to focus on PVP or PVE, they will always be at a disadvantage if they fight multiple enemies at once in the New World. This is especially true when players don’t have AOE attack options right away. Even with a good set of New World armor, this immediately hurts their DPS. But when players use the Detonate Heartrune Gem, they can use a cool AOE if they time it right.
With this Gem, players in New World can store up explosive energy and then explode to do 100% rune damage within a 5-meter radius. The ability has a 3-second charge time and, depending on the sub-type, other benefits. Even though Detonate’s bonuses can be helpful, the time it takes to charge leaves players open to interruptions and other powerful attacks from the enemy. Here are some things to think about:
- Accelerating Charge (Perk 1): This Heartrune Gem has always had this ability. When charging, players can move 30% faster, possibly to avoid getting interrupted.
- Cunning Detonate: When this version is used, players gain access to Empowering Charge (Perk 2), which increases damage by 15% when attacking during the charge, but reduces explosive damage by 20%.
- Stalwart Detonate: This version of Stalwart Detonate gives players access to Leeching Explosion (Perk 2). Which can heal enemies for 50% of the damage they did with runes. But there is also a 30% drop in the damage that explosions do.
- Brutal Detonate: When this version of the Heartrune is used, players get Escalating Explosion (Perk 2), which lets them take 15% more damage while charging in exchange for a 20% increase in explosion damage.
Cannon Blast
New World is a fantasy game, so it makes sense that close-to-mid-range combat is where most of the powerful combos and skills are used. Even the game’s spells and long-distance weapons couldn’t always beat a blow from an axe or a thrust from a sword. And if you’re new to New World and want to get an advantage from a distance. You might want to pick up the skill Cannon Blast, which lets you summon a cannon.
When Cannon Blast is used, it brings a real cannon to the battlefield. It fires a shot that does 100% rune damage and, depending on the sub-type, has different effects. The cannon itself is a powerful part of a kit, but because it has a long range. It works best as an opening attack rather than as part of a rotation. No matter what, players can expect the following from this Heartrune Gem:
- Burning Blast (Perk 1): This is a skill that has always been there. When the Cannon Blast hits a target, it gives them Burn. This spell will damage runes by 10% every second for 5 seconds.
- Cunning Cannon Blast: This subtype gives players access to Penetrating Blast (Perk 2). Which makes the cannon blast impossible to block and allow it to go through enemies.
- Stalwart Cannon Blast: With this change, players can now fire a Concussive Blast (Perk 2) instead of a Cannon Blast. This only does 30 percent rune damage, but when it hits an enemy, it knocks them down.
- Brutal Cannon Blast: This version gives players access to Explosive Blast (Perk 2). Which reduces damage by 20% but now does damage over a larger area of 3 meters.
Stone Form
In this game, where New World weapons and combo rotations are used a lot. Buffs and debuffs are important for staying alive. With the Stone Form, players get a cool way to get rid of debuffs, which can make them even more resistant to even the most powerful crowd control methods.
When Stone Form is used, it removes all crowd control effects from the player. Not only that, but they also protect players from crowd control and stun for 5 seconds. This can become an important part of a combo player’s arsenal, and taking away crowd control debuffs can make it easier for an aggressive opponent to turn the tide against them. With Stone Form, players can also do the following:
- Fortifying Form (Perk 1): This is a skill that all sub-types of Stone Form have. And it lets players take 10% less damage as long as this Heartgem is active.
- Greater Stone Form: If a player has this sub-type, they can use Hardened Form (Perk 2). Which makes them 10 percent less likely to take damage when they get hit. This can give you up to a 30% boost.
- Stalwart Stone Form: Using this sub-type gives players access to the Mending Form (Perk 2). Which heals them for 75% of their rune damage every second. This will, however, reduce the damage they do by 20%.
- Brutal Stone Form: With Brutal Stone Form, players can use Unstable Form (Perk 3), which makes the Stone Form explore when it runs out or when the Heartgem key is pressed. When players do this, the explosion hits all enemies within a 3-meter radius with 200 percent more rune damage. Stone Form, on the other hand, only lasts for 2 seconds less.
Dark Ascent
Players who like New World might like this game. Because they have a lot of control over how their characters fight. This is especially true since the MMO relies heavily on combos to deal damage. In terms of how Heartgems work, Dark Ascent is good for players who like to do as much damage as possible.
With this Heartgem Rune, players can fly up into the air and gather power. Which they then send crashing down to the ground in a powerful hit. This not only does 100% rune damage to enemies within a 3-meter radius, but it also stuns them. With a button press, players can even use the ground attack much earlier. They can change Dark Ascent even more by adding the following sub-types:
- Leeching Fall (Perk 1): This perk is shared by all types of Dark Ascent. It gives players HP equal to 100% of the damage they do after the landing blast.
- Cunning Dark Ascent: Players with this sub-type can use Crippling Fall (Perk 2). Which slows down opponents by 30% for 4 seconds when the landing attack hits them.
- Stalwart Dark Ascent: Thanks to this sub-type, players who use Fortifying Fall (Perk 2) can get Fortify whenever they deal a successful hit. Instead of reducing the damage they take by 10%. This buff increases the amount of damage they can take by 10%. The effect lasts for five seconds and can happen up to three times.
- Brutal Dark Ascent: With this sub-type, players can use Empowered Fall (Perk 2). Which makes the landing less likely to stun them and does 150% more damage to runes.
Grasping Vines
If you want to be the best tank in Amazon’s MMO, you might want to find ways to deal damage to multiple enemies at once, especially in the New World Arena. This is why tanks choose builds that help them take less damage and even draw enemies toward them. In Basket Random game, this is a good way to describe the Grasping Vines Heartgem Rune.
At its core, Grasping Vine releases vines around the player that deal 100% rune damage to enemies and root everyone within a 4-meter radius for three (3) seconds. Not only that, but the area-of-effect and rooting parts already make this an interesting crowd-control skill. Players can also change their playstyles to fit this Heartgem Rune by adding any of the following:
- Enfeebling Vines (Perk 1): This trait is shared by all types of Grasping Vines and makes them reduce enemy damage by 20% for 8 seconds.
- Cunning Grasping Vines: This ability gives players access to Leeching Vines (Perk 2). Which heal them for 20% of the damage they do to opponents who are rooted.
- Stalwart Grasping Vines: If a player has this subtype, they can use Resilient Vines (Perk 2), which gives them Fortify when they use it. This 5-second effect makes it possible for the player to take 20% more damage. But it also makes it 20% harder for the player to deal damage.
- Brutal Grasping Vines: When a player gets this sub-type. They get Rending Vines (Perk 2), which apply Rend each time they get hit. This reduces the player’s Regeneration of Stamina by 50 percent for 5 seconds in exchange for the enemy taking 20 percent less damage.
Bile Bomb
It’s one thing for players to deal AOE damage in the combo-heavy New World. But it’s another for them to have attacks that always give them an advantage over their enemies. In a game like New World, where players have to keep their attention on their attacks and defense because their characters are usually weak, any debuff can put them in a huge amount of danger. Players who want to win games can count on Bile Bomb to get the job done.
With this Heartrune Gem, players can spit out a blob of acidic bile that turns into a poison cloud. This attack will stick to all enemies it hits for 3 seconds and hurt enemies who enter the cloud. In this poisoned state, all enemies take 100% rune damage per second and have their healing slowed by 30% for 8 seconds. Depending on which variant is used, these effects get better:
- Crippling Bite (Perk 1): No matter what type of Bile Bomb is used. It will always cause Slow when it hits. This will slow your movement speed by 20% for 3 seconds.
- Cunning Bile Bomb: With this version, players can give their opponents Exhausting Bile (Perk 2), which makes them feel sick and tired. This adds an Exhaust debuff to successful hits, which stops the enemy from regaining 30% of their stamina.
- Stalwart Bile Bomb: This ability changes the Bile Bomb into a “Mending Bile” (Perk 2), which heals the target for 20% of the damage done, but reduces their healing by 15%.
- Brutal Bile Bomb: Brutal Bile Bomb: This version gives players access to Concentrated Bile (Perk 2), which lowers healing by 50% in exchange for increasing damage by 150% per second from bile. This also turns the Bile Bomb into spit, but it doesn’t make a cloud.
New World came out for the PC in 2021.
