Learn to Swim
At our facility, children can develop lifesaving and competitive swimming skills in an enjoyable and safe environment. Our lessons take place in small groups so your child will receive individualized instruction.
Beginning Freestyle swimmers are typically taught how to breathe underwater for five seconds at a time while floating upside-down for the same duration. When combined together with kicks and leg swags, this forms a pattern known as Freestyle that covers most of the pool.
All this is taught by a coach inside the pool to help them overcome their fear of water and become comfortable in swimming pools. Our program runs year-round to provide support and enable faster level progression.
Baby Swimming
Baby swimming class Cranbourne provides a fun sensory experience in the water for young babies. Your instructor will use songs, actions, and water toys to build confidence among their young students in moving around freely in the water while floating on their back.
Babies exposed to swimming and water early on typically develop better motor skills, balance and coordination than those not exposed. Your baby’s brain registers this contact between water resistance and their skin/muscles and the ability to resist it as touch points for development.
For maximum fun during lessons, it is crucial that a warm pool be chosen at a quiet time – this will reduce noise and crowds that could upset a little swimmer.
Adult Swimming
At our adult swimming lessons, experienced instructors teach classes designed to improve stroke technique, build strength and endurance, reduce water-related injury risk and build strength and endurance in adults.
Adult Swim series registrations are currently available; to join, contact your nearest center: Brunswick Baths, Coburg Leisure Centre or Oak Park Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Adult Swim is an important break during pool hours that gives both swimmers and lifeguards time to rest and recharge, helping to lower risk of drowning incidents while giving lifeguards time to focus on other duties. Adult Swim also allows swimmers to take quick dips without disrupting the flow of the pool.
The KIDS SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR
Water can be an enjoyable part of life, yet can also pose potential danger to untrained children. Swim lessons for kids of all ages provide invaluable instruction that helps ensure safe enjoyment while developing life-long skills that will ensure their continued safety in and around water environments. Be it your local pool, lake, or ocean; an KIDS SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR provides invaluable instruction that fosters an appreciation of this elemental force of nature.
Kids learning to swim develop not only physical skills but also invaluable social and emotional ones in the process. Swimming strengthens respiratory, cardiovascular, circulatory and nervous systems resulting in better overall health – meaning regular swimmers have a reduced risk of heart disease or stroke later on in life.
Teaching young children to swim requires that instructors use an age-appropriate curriculum and tailor lessons according to each child’s ability. Furthermore, students often do best when provided a supportive environment from a caring instructor – private swim lessons allow one-on-one instruction and should always be considered when possible.
The KIDS SWIMMING INSTRUCTOR offers classes to cater for beginner water acclimation to advanced stroke development. A typical swimming lesson program usually begins with gentle water acclimation classes designed to make children comfortable in the water, including paddle and floating skills training and introduction to dog paddle and dog paddle techniques. Later on, students are instructed on freestyle breaststroke swimming techniques as well as back crawl and other advanced diving techniques used at different depths.
As a kid’s swim instructor, you may discover that some students do not mesh well with your personality or approach to teaching. It is perfectly natural if this occurs – simply suggest another instructor if things do not seem to be working out between both parties involved.
Final Verdict
Swim instructors who are committed to improving and saving the lives of kids often form strong bonds with their students and often develop long-lasting emotional ties that last a lifetime. True kids swimming instructors realize the impact of their work and strive to ensure every swimming lesson provides positive experiences for every pupil they instruct.
Parents should always remain by the pool during swim lessons to assist if there is a medical emergency and to encourage their children to follow instructions and listen attentively. Those who prefer watching from the deck should confer with their instructor beforehand on how best they can interact with their child during a lesson; many instructors encourage parents to stay poolside for as much of the session as possible so as to cheer and encourage younger children who may struggle to focus without constant praise and reinforcement from adults present – particularly helpful when trying out something new like swimming lessons!
