Bremont Watch Company and Martin-Baker have joined forces to create the pinnacle of aviation watches, one that encapsulates the spirit of “Made in Britain.” Bremont MB1/MB2 watches have been tested to withstand 12-30G for one second upon ejection.
Martin-Baker, the company that invented the ejection seat, is the apex of British engineering. The expertise of Bremont’s watchmakers has been coupled with Martin-in-Baker’s testing, materials, and design. The brand sets out to test the limits of traditional mechanical watchmaking by subjecting it to the kind of scrutiny usually reserved for matters actually involving life and death.
Even if an ejection seat hasn’t been used in 40 years, it must be ready to deploy at a moment’s notice. The Bremont MB watches have been subjected to tests that can only be done at Martin-Baker, such as a 30-year vibration test to simulate an airplane’s lifespan.
LONGITUDE
The Limited Edition Bremont Longitude represents a crucial turning point in this voyage with its timeless yet modern appearance. The Longitude has authentic brass from the famous Flamsteed Meridian Line at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, London, in addition to housing the brand’s first produced movement from its new ENG300 movement series. The metal Flamsteed Meridian line at Greenwich marks the location where John Flamsteed, the first Astronomer Royal, made his observations and created the groundwork for precise timekeeping and navigation.
Bremont has significantly invested in new equipment, personnel, and training. Additionally, the company’s own technical team has modified the base K1 calibre, for which it has secured complete manufacturing and re-engineering rights from Swiss company “THE+.” Bremont re-engineered 80% of the base calibre, including adding a number of design enhancements, to create the ENG300 series, a proprietary movement made to the brand’s specific requirements.
