What is SEO?
Search engine optimization (Search Engine Optimization) is a set of techniques designed to improve the organic performance of a website. It differs in on-page and off-page SEO.

How is an SEO analysis structured?
An analysis for positioning on search engines is structured in stages: It starts from the contents, up to the strictly technical parts (such as the change of DNS or the Robots.txt) and can be divided into:

1) Analysis of website pages: SEO

Server or connection blunders: For this situation, admittance to research Search Control center is mentioned, to have a reasonable image of the mistakes in the different URLs, for example, a “404 not found”, or a page not found, yet present in the Google documents.

2) Analysis of the data in the “META” tags :

Meta title: In this case, it is checked that the “titles” or the various titles of the pages are correctly written. If we talk about “SEO”, you can not write “Auto”. In addition, SEO Birmingham checks if there are duplicate titles on the site, or at least similar ones.
Meta Description: In this case, we check that the descriptions of the various pages are properly optimized for search engines. Furthermore, as with the titles, you always check if there are duplicate descriptions (as happens very often in e-commerce).

3) Copywriter analysis :

Pages with “same” or “duplicate” content: In this case you go to check, using special tools if there are one or more pages on the site that have content similar to others, SEO greatly penalizes the website, as it is a “copy-paste” and Google doesn’t like that much when a person copies the contents from page to page. Each of them must have its description and its utility. Otherwise, it must be deleted.

Checking the h1 tag: The “h1” tag is the title of the page but is visible to both readers and search engines. At an SEO level, this parameter is really important, so it must be present on all pages and it must be optimized properly.
Optimization of images: Even the images present in the various articles/pages of a website must be optimized properly. In this case, the “alt” attribute is checked and if it is not present it must be added or optimized for that given keyword (e.g. on a page where “grey furniture” is mentioned, the image must have the attribute “alt” with the word “grey furniture”).

Checking pages with very little textual content: Content is the real king. In other words, the content is the most important part of a website. In this case, we check if there are pages that have less than 250 words that must be optimized properly by increasing their content!

4) Performance and “user-friendly” analysis :

Speed control: The speed of the website is checked with special tools, which must be less than 2 seconds. The tools used are “ GTMetrix “, “ Google PageSpeed Insights ” and “ Pingdom “. In case of slowness, a speed improvement is also foreseen through a restyling or change of hosting, SEO.

Mobile-friendly: We check if the website is suitable for all devices by following Google’s guidelines. A website that is not compatible with the mobile version, according to data obtained from my customers, loses between 40 and 70% of traffic. As with our client, Let’s Go, once we made the website mobile friendly, we recovered 53% of the traffic.

User-friendly: In this case, the intuitiveness of the website is controlled. A new potential customer does not know your site, so he must be intuitive, otherwise, he will leave the page immediately, giving you a bounce rate of over 80% (8 out of 10 users leave).

5) Purely technical analyses :

Websites from the 90s, or in “Flash”: This control is used to find and eliminate any form of flash script present on the site. This programming code is not contemplated by search engines that will never position that content, as it is not understandable.
Optimization Robots.txt: This file, SEO although not visible to readers, but only to search engines, is one of the most important files on a website. Its content, if written incorrectly, can cause serious content indexing problems, resulting in a loss of ranking.
DNS management: There must be only one version of the website, with or without “www”. This control is used to better manage this redirect.

6) Analysis of who mentions the site :

Every reputable website gets mentioned by other websites for that particular topic. These links are called “backlinks”, i.e. links that point to a page or article on our website SEO. After Google started “Penguin”, it made this factor one of the most important in terms of ranking. The more quality backlinks you have, the better you will be positioned on search engines.

On and off-page SEO

On-page SEO includes tricks such as:

The response speed of the server on which the site itself is based ( choosing a good hosting is one of the most important things, together with the domain);
SEO Friendly URLs (article coming soon on this aspect);
The structure of the website. The latter must have logical links between the various pages (e.g. Homepage —-> Who we are —> Contact us
